Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer/P-EBT: Application will open from June 1st-30th. P-EBT is for children who received SNAP food benefits during the month of March 2020 and for children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 Texas school year. You could receive up to $285 per child on a P-EBT card to purchase food at stores.
HISD Food Distribution: Beginning June 1, families will be able to pick up boxed student meals twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays at one of 68 designated schools across the district. Each box will contain a day’s worth of meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack. Pick up sites will provide parents with multiple boxes — three on Mondays and four on Thursdays — for each child.
Texas Department of Agriculture: Offering no-cost meals this summer for children 18 and younger, and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old through its Summer Meal Program.
