For years, El Centro de Corazón’s annual Back to School Family Expo has provided Houston-area families with the resources, health care services, and supplies needed for elementary-aged children to start their new school year with the tools they need to succeed! In previous years, residents of Houston’s East End neighborhoods and the Greater Houston area were invited to a morning of in-person fun and FREE backpacks and school supplies.
With COVID-19 safety measures in mind and the need in our service area greater than ever, we are holding 2 events in 2021 to help more students start the school year with the supplies they need! The first event on August 13 will be hosted in the Magnolia Park neighborhood, and another will be held the following Friday, August 20, in the nearby Hobby neighborhood. Both 2021 events are drive-thru events and are first-come, first-served. Attendees will receive FREE backpacks and school supplies for their elementary-aged children.

El Centro de Corazón’s annual Back to School Family Expo is only possible through the generosity of businesses, organizations, and people like you. In 2021, we are hosting two events with the goal of supplying 1,600 elementary-aged students in Houston’s East End and Hobby areas with backpacks and school supplies.
Among other sponsorship benefits, event sponsors will have the unique opportunity to reach these students and their families by supplying materials to include in each backpack, such as flyers, promotional items and more. For a first-hand experience of the impact being made, volunteer opportunities are also available for sponsors and their employees prior to the event to prepare backpacks.
