Alcance Comunitario<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

El Centro de Coraz\u00f3n organiza su evento anual Be Healthy Family Expo \/ Evento de regreso a la escuela y\u00a0 East End Holiday\u00a0 (Evento de Navidad) todos los a\u00f1os. Estos eventos son una oportunidad para retribuir al East End de Houston. \u00a1Estamos agradecidos por nuestros voluntarios y patrocinadores que hacen que cada uno sea posible!<\/p>\n

Ser un miembro activo de la comunidad de East End de Houston es una parte importante de lo que hacemos en El Centro de Coraz\u00f3n. Trabajamos en proyectos espec\u00edficos que ayudan a hacer una comunidad m\u00e1s saludable y tambi\u00e9n asistimos a varios eventos comunitarios, ferias de salud y eventos escolares durante todo el a\u00f1o. El objetivo de Growing Roots East End Network es reunir a escuelas y organizaciones con el fin de ayudar a sostener, promover y conectar jardines a trav\u00e9s de los patrones alimentadores escolares. Como resultado, esperamos ver un aumento en el acceso a alimentos saludables, mejor educaci\u00f3n nutricional, mayor cohesi\u00f3n social y oportunidades econ\u00f3micas para familias de bajos ingresos. El Centro ha implementado el programa Commit to be Fit, que educa a los j\u00f3venes participantes y sus padres sobre los beneficios de una alimentaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s saludable y su mayor actividad f\u00edsica, y promueve el ejercicio y la forma f\u00edsica para reducir las disparidades de salud, como la obesidad infantil y la diabetes.
