Summer Family Nutrition Program

El Centro de Corazón joined with the Houston Food Bank to serve East End families through the Summer Family Nutrition Program. On June 29th over 50 families with school aged children visited El Centro's Navigation site, where they were provided 50 pounds of food product to assist them through the summer months.

After Hours Grand Opening

El Centro de Corazón's John S. Dunn Clinic held their After Hours Grand Opening - In August, as a result of joint effort from the HMO’s and a recent grant awarded to El Centro from the Harris County Healthcare Alliance, El Centro began offering pediatric after hours 7 days per week, remaining open until 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Back to School Health Fair

El Centro de Corazón hosted a Back to School Health Fair and gave out over 150 backpacks to school age kids - Over 200 families from the East End community of Houston, attended the Back to School Health Fair and received backpacks, tote bags and school supplies to help prepare them for school.
